As Director of the Foundation for Citizenship at Liverpool John Moores University, Professor David Alton has organised the Roscoe Lecture series.
The Foundation has completed three series of Roscoe Century 21 Lectures which are now available on video having been recorded by Granada Television (recordings of the third series will be available in December 2000).
Professor Alton compiled the book Citizen 21, which explores the rights and responsibilities, the solving of social problems, education and the role of government.
The book features a unique collection of the lectures including contributions from Martyn Lewis, Jack Straw, Dame Shirley Williams, David Blunkett, Martin Bell, Frank Field, Ann Widdecombe, Irish President Mary McAleese, and Chief Rabbi Jonathan Sacks.
